Feb read-a-long

New month, new read-a-long. This month I'm joining Evie @ Bookish and Rachelia @ Bookish Comforts on the Read-A-Long for Delirium by Lauren Oliver.

Every week they take turns putting up a recap of the chapters read and a discussion. Here's the schedule:

Chapters 1-7 on Feb 8 @ Bookish Comforts
Chapters 8-14 on Feb 17 @ Bookish
Chapters 15-21 on Feb 22 @ Bookish Comforts
Chapters 22-27 on Feb 27 @ Bookish

The Pelican Brief

Darby Shaw, a brilliant Tulane law student who comes up with an ingenious theory to explain the baffling assassinations of two Supreme Court justices in one day. They were shot and strangled by ace international terrorist Khamel, who loves the film Three Days of the Condor, but government gumshoes don't get what connects the deaths. Silly government guys! They died so the conservative president, who just wants to be left alone to play golf, will appoint new, conservative justices who will help out a case involving an industrialist who is the enemy of pelicans and other living things. It's all spelled out for them in Darby's brief. She likes to do legal feats to impress her boyfriend, her boyish law prof Thomas (who, like Grisham, prefers to shave at most once a week, and is cool, smart, and antiauthoritarian). The prof likes to paint her toes red, in homage to Susan Sarandon in Bull Durham.

Reading Map Wrap Up

I can't believe it's already January 31, I feel like the month passed by so fast. I only read 4 books! I need to read more, I've found so many good books that I want to read thanks to Waiting on Wednesday, Teaser Tuesdays, Feed My Reader Friday, It's Monday, what are you reading?

I started this blog on November but I feel like I just started blogging this month. It was a little bit more time consuming than I thought but I'm learning and I think it's just a matter of getting used to things. It's been fun this month, getting to know new and old bloggers, joining read-a-longs, book clubs, discussions, tours and weekly memes. I'm hoping I'll finally get organized this week so it wont be as stressful as it is sometimes.
I just realized today that I had to link my challenges post for the month and freaked out because I still needed 3 posts. I realized I was wrong and I just need 2.

Leap Frog Follow Hop

Leap Frog Follow Hop

This is a new meme hosted by Paperbook Princess and Readers In Wonderland
The point of the meme is to find new blogs
All you have to do is:
Make a post! Easy right? Answer the weekly question, grab our button, and copy the code for the linky list we have posted.
Get the post URL, copy it, and enter the linky list.
The point of the meme is "leap frog" so it is a requirement to follow the person in front of you on the list! Not everyone, but the person directly before you. (And the hosts!)
Leave a comment on the post of whomever you follow, talking about the question and telling them you followed. (So they can follow you back!)
After you do the mandatory follows, you can then go around and comment/follow on anyone on the list!
 Remember:
This runs for the ENTIRE week, meaning you have the entire week to go around and follow/enter.
Follow anyone who follows you back! Even if it's later in the week!
You can check out the full rules here.

It's Monday!

It's Monday! What are you reading? is hosted by Sheila

Finally Friday

I was thinking about the books I had to read and which ones I had already picked for next month when I thought about the Read by Theme book club. This month is Food/Drink and we could pick a book by its title, I immediately thought about Johnny Doesn't Drink Champagne and decided to use that one for the book club.

I don't know if I'll get to Bruno, chief of police and the Dark Vineyard but if I don't, I know I already read at least one book for this theme.
Other thing I was thinking, I was watching Law and Order during the week and there was a case about a woman with DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder).
I think our brain is amazing and I like reading about things like this. But I was interested in reading about it in Fiction so I did a little search and found two books I want to read. I still haven't bought them but thought they were very interesting. Identical by Ellen Hopkins and Multiples by Robert Silverberg (this one contains 14 short stories).

I'm not a psychologist or a doctor. I find a lot of things fascinating that have nothing to do with my degree. I just couldn't bear the idea of going to medical school, I don't like hospitals and psychology was just not for me. I'm interested in some things but not all of it.
Is it just me or do you find other things fascinating that have nothing to do with your major? If I had enough money I'll study all my life. But not go through college again, I'd just pick the things I like.

I started watching tv lately and I'm liking shows I had not seen before. Law and Order, Criminal Minds, Beauty and the beast (I just saw one episode but I think I'll keep watching it). I think this is the reason why I haven't read this past week. I'm still reading The Pelican Brief.
I'm going on a road trip today and I'm hoping to read that, that is if they don't make me drive.
Since I'm going away for the weekend, I don't know if I'll post tomorrow's Know Me Better but I'll try my best.

Tuesday!

It's Tuesday and I really like Teaser Tuesdays hosted by Should Be Reading. But I still haven't finished reading The Pelican Brief. I started it last week and I've only picked it up once.
It's not that I didn't like it, because it was getting interesting but a lot of things happened that I just haven't read anything. I didn't want to put another teaser from the same book as last week so I decided not to post one today.
I'm hoping to actually finish this one at least in a couple of days so I can start other books before February. Maybe that's why I'm not in such a hurry, I've finished my challenges for this month, though I still had a couple of books to read before I started next month's.

Divergent Read-a-long

I always wanted to join a Read-a-long and when I found this one I immediately joined. They were reading Divergent, my new favorite book! Sadly, I joined after the first Discussion.
This read-a-long is hosted by Evie @ Bookish and Rachelia @ Bookish Comforts

They do a recap of the chapters read every week and then post questions about them. We answer them on their post but I wanted to post my answers here as well. The real discussion this week is @ Bookish Comforts.
Here's the link to their Discussion # 2, chapters 10 - 20
If you haven't read the book, stop here because there are spoilers ahead.

Finally Friday

I was looking through my books and started wondering why I hadn't consider them for the challenges. I have mystery books that I haven't read and I had forgotten about them.

It's Friday again and I had a lot of ebooks downloaded this past month and I didn't know what to do with them (I went on a free downloading spree from Barnes and Noble and some that BookBub recommended.) I finally organized my Nook according to the reading challenges I joined. This is how I'll pick the books every month:
